In early 2024, I led the design for the "Human-Centered AI: Guidance for K-12 Public Schools," published by the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). This guide introduces the "Human-AI-Human" (H-AI-H) approach, which focuses on using AI to support, not replace, human decision-making in schools. Our aim was to integrate AI ethically and effectively, improving both learning and administrative processes while keeping people at the heart of education. The guidance underwent 3 updates with added content. It was an exciting initiative aimed at shaping the future of AI in schools!
